I remember listening to my Christmas with the Chipmunks 8 track over and over when I was young. It was one of my favorite Christmas albums (it was a toss-up between this and Bing Crosby!) It hasn't been played in years, and would probably fall apart if I ever found an 8 track player to use. Now it sits on the shelf next to several other prized possessions.

Warm Christmas memories tumble through my mind whenever I look at it. I sometimes find myself just staring at it imaging the crackly audio that would come from the 70's stereo console I used to play it in. I loved that enormous console with the flip top lid, bigger than than the family couch. I can still smell the lemon pledge I used to polish the wood grain surface with. Ah, memories.

I thought today would be the perfect day to share, since it was the date on David Seville's calendar on the wall. I've often wondered why they picked that date when they created the cover art. What was special about December 21st.

It definitely seemed an appropriate date to share with all of the end of the world nonsense circulating, because I know in my heart that the Chipmunks would never let the world end today.
